I have been asked a number of times to recommend books for people who are just starting out with Perl and CGI programming. I thought this would be a good way to maintain a list of books that I have found helpful, as well as give others a chance to give their impressions of the books. It also gives me a chance to demonstrate a number of the modifications that are available from my site. The list of mods used is on the database home page.

You can search the book database and order books online from without signing up for an account or logging in. Just select Enter. If you would like to add a rating and review of the book, you will need to Sign Up for an account. If you already have an account, you will need to Log In. There is also a separate database where you can suggest a book that you found particularly helpful but may not be in my database at present. You must Log In before submitting a suggestion. Please limit your suggestions to books about Perl, CGI programming and web development. You may have found a great book on philosophy, but my bookstore is very specialized.
